Mythos Battle Of Beliefs

Objective: To defeat your opponents lord and hero units in combat.

Movement: Additional information as well as movement examples can be found on the Characature movent page.

Unit Types:
Level 1 - Soldier Class
Soldiers can move up to 2 spaces but can't move diagonally

Level 2 -Captain Class
Captains move like a Rook in Chess up to 4 spaces

Level 3 - Creature Class
Creatures move identical to Knights in Chess

Level 4 - Hero/Lord  -
Lords move 1 space in any direction. Heroes have unique movement that will be displayed on the Hero's description card.

After setting up the board in accordance with the setup instructions all players will roll 1 six sided dice (1d6) to determine which player starts. The player with the highest roll then rolls 1d6 again to determine how many caricatures that player can move this turn.
1-2 Player may move 1
caricature
3-4 May move up to 2
caricature's
5-6 May move up to 3
caricature's

Players can choose to not move if they wish. However if a player does not move any
caricature's in a turn then the player must move at least one the following turn.

Combat:
At the end of movement combat ensues between all caricatures trying to occupy an opponents space(s) on the board. For example at the end of movement one of player A's creature caricatures is in the same spot as one of player B's soldier units. Then the creature and the soldier duel until there is a victor.
Combat occurs only after player movement has finished for that player. Combat is simultaneous and damage is calculated in real-time. This  sounds a little complicated but what it really means is that in the above scenario Player B's soldier deals damage at the same time as Player A's creature unit. This usually prompts the question(s);

Can both the soldier and the creature die at the same time in the above scenario? Yes both units can be vanquished at the same time.

Since a player can move up to three units in his or her turn it is likely that you will encounter a situation where you have enough movement with your caricatures to move more then one caricature into battle. This also means that it is possible to attack a single enemy caricature with more then one of your units.

Multi-opponent combat works in the same way as regular combat in that damage is dealt in real time.
For Example: Player A attacks player B's captain unit with a creature and a soldier unit. Player B must decide between attacking the soldier or the creature. Player A gets to attack with both simultaneously.
In this scenario lets pretend player B decides to attack the soldier, damage is dealt and both the captain and the soldier die leaving the creature to occupy the space.
Thats an easy resolution. Say however player B's captain is slain and neither one of player A's units are killed. Now you have two caricatures trying to occupy the same space. In this instance the stronger of the two units returns to its starting point prior to that turns movement so the creature card would have to return to the spot it started from.
Now it is possible in this scenario for player B's captain to slay both player A's soldier and creature due to the dice rolls that occur during combat.
